Sonam Kapoor (pronounced [soːnəm kəpuːr]; born June 9, 1985) is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood
films.The daughter of actor Anil Kapoor started his film career assisting
director Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his 2005 film black drama.

Kapoor made his acting debut in
2007 with the romantic drama Bhansali Saawariya opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
Although unsuccessful at the box office, Kapoor's performance earned him a
nomination for the Filmfare Best Debut Award woman. She then appeared in the political
drama Delhi-6 (2009) and had her first commercial success with the romantic
comedy I Hate Luv Storys (2010). Kapoor received acclaim and won several Best
Actress nominations (including the Filmfare) to play a leading role in the
romantic drama Raanjhanaa (2013). She also briefly appeared in the hit biopic
sports Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), and played a leading role in the romantic
comedy Khoobsurat (2014).

Early life
Kapoor was born in a suburb of
Chembur, Mumbai, June 9, 1985 with actor Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor old
model. She is the granddaughter of filmmaker
Surinder Kapoor father. The family moved
to his house in Juhu, where his parents still reside, when he was a month Kapoor is the eldest of three brothers. She
has a sister, Rhea, and brother Harshvardhan. She is the niece of producer
Boney Kapoor and actor Sanjay Kapoor, while Kapoor and Sridevi Mona Shourie are
his aunts. It is the paternal cousin of
actors Arjun Kapoor and Mohit Marwah, and cousin of the actor Champ by his
mother.
Kapoor was educated at school
Arya Vidya Mandir in Juhu, after which he enrolled in the United World College
of South East Asia in Singapore, for their college education, where he
specializing in theater and the arts. Kapoor speaks English, Hindi, Urdu,
Punjabi and Marathi, and is also a classically trained dancer. She suffered from obesity in adolescence, and
was diagnosed with borderline diabetes.
2004-12: Film debut and inverse
