Nayantara (born November 18, 1984, Diana Mariam Kurian)  is an Indian film actress from Kerala, which appears in South Indian films. She made her acting debut in the movie Malayalam Manassinakkare 2003 and continued Vismayathumbathu (2004) before foraying in Tamil and Telugu cinema.

She made her film debut in 2005 with Tamil Ayya and a year later in Telugu with Lakshmi after she was the female lead in many Tamil films and commercial success Telugu, be as one of the most actresses sought Tamil and telugu cinema.  her portrayal of Sita in Sri Rama Rajyam (2011) earned her Filmfare Award for Best Actress and Telugu Nandi Award for Best Actress.

Early life

Nayantara was born in Kerala, India,  to the Syrian Christian parents Malayali Kurian Kodiyattu and Omana Kurian.  Her brother, Leno, who is nine years older than she lives in Dubai.  Like her father was an officer in the Indian Air Force, studied in different parts of India, mainly in the north of India. She studied at Chennai, Jamnagar, Gujarat and Delhi. After retirement, settled in Kerala, where he continued his studies, Kendriya Vidyalaya schools in the Coimbatore. In Tiruvalla, studied at Balikamadom girls higher secondary school, then attended Marthoma College for his undergraduate degree in English literature.

Career

Malayalam cinema debut (2003-04)

While in college, Nayantara work as part-time model. It was discovered by director Sathyan Anthikkad, who had seen some of her modeling assignments and approached her to play a key role in his opposite Jayaram Manassinakkare movie (2003).  Although initially rejected the offer because she was not interested in films, resulting in time and agreed to "just this film."  has become a huge Manassinakkare . financial success and has continued to receive offers to act her two releases in 2004, Shaji Kailas Natturajavu by Fazil and psychological thriller Vismayathumbathu saw his co-starring alongside Mohanlal, so she played the adoptive sister of the protagonist the first, which played a ghost in the second.  Her performance in particular Vismayathumbathu was praised, with critics saying he had "stolen her thunder author backed role,"  and was "developing the film. " also acted opposite Mammootty in Thaskara Veeran and Rappakal.

Working in Tamil and Telugu cinema (2005-09)

Later, she began appearing in Tamil and Telugu films. In 2005, she was cast opposite Sarath Kumar in Ayya Hari, which began in the Tamil film industry. The family drama film opened to positive critical response, fetching Nayantara also positive. Behindwoods.com claimed that she had made a "big splash in Tamil", while a reviewer Nowrunning.com said her "presence with her beautiful smile is much victory."  While taking Ayya of photos, she was chosen to represent the love interest Rajinikanth in the film comedy horror Chandramukhi,  after the wife of the director P. Vasu had seen Manassinakkare and recommended. the film has become one of the most successful films in Tamil history, running for more than 800 days in theaters,  Nayantara finally become one of the most sought after actresses in Tamil.  Later this year his third Tamil film, AR Murugadoss' Ghajini, in which she plays a secondary female character, again was a very successful company in the market. However, she later said that contained in Ghajini was a big mistake and the "worst decision "she ever had. During the filming of his Vallavan Tamil film was a love affair with the director and co-actor Silambarasan. She initially denied the reports.In November 2006, however, confirmed that she and Silambarasan was broken, going to add that this is not going to work with him again. 

When running in 2008 and after the release of his film Villu, reports suggested she was in a relationship with director Prabhu Deva, with some sources even claim that the two had secretly married in June 2009. She had her name tattooed on his wrist,  and began to appear with him in public, while it remains silent and refused to comment on the issue, neither deny nor confirm the relationship.in September 2010, then Prabhu Deva openly confessed his love for Nayantara and further stated that he wanted to marry her soon. The issue soon media attention has been won and became controversial because Prabhu Deva was already married and not divorced.
