Shriya Saran (pronounced [ʂrɪjaː saːɽɳ was born September 11, 1982), also known as mononym Shriya, is an Indian actress and model. She starred in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi movies and a few films in English and Kannada.

Saran was born in Dehradun and spent most of his childhood in Haridwar. In 2001, her dance teacher gave him the chance to appear in the early days of video music Renoo Nathan "Thirakti Kyun Hawa" Saran has to be known by many Indian filmmakers.

Although Saran aspires to become a famous dancer and thought he could get into the film industry as such, was instead offered a leadership role. Therefore, Saran made her film debut in 2001 with the Telugu film Ishtam and had her first commercial success with Santhosham (2002). She appeared in several other Telugu films, while on the roads in the Hindi and Tamil film industries. In 2007, Saran starred in Sivaji, Tamil movie the biggest hit at the time. She also won rave reviews for her role in the 2007 film Awarapan Bollywood. In 2008, Saran has starred in his first film in English, co-production-Amerindian The other end of the line. His upcoming projects include popular movies like Kanthaswamy (2009) in Tamil and Pokkiri Raja (2010) Malayalam, their roles in those who have become one of the leading actresses in the film industry in South India.  In 2012, she was cast in the English-Canadian film Midnight's Children directed by Deepa Mehta, based on the novel of the Booker Prize-winning Salman Rushdie of the same name, which won praise from international critics. She achieved greater commercial success by starring in films like Pavitra (2013) and Chandra (2013). In 2014, Shriya Saran starred in the critically acclaimed Telugu Manam, which has received praise for his performance.

Besides his work in the film, Saran was the brand ambassador for various brands across India, approving the beauty and health. Other philanthropic activities, she has volunteered for a number of charities and in 2011 spa hiring people with visual impairments open exclusively. She was also the ambassador of the Celebrity Cricket League scoring his first two seasons.

Early life and background
Shriya Saran was born September 11, 1982  in the region of Uttarakhand Dehradun in North India Pushpendra Saran and Neeraja Saran.  Her father worked for Bharat Heavy Electricals and his mother was a chemistry professor at Delhi Public School, Ranipur Haridwar and Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi.  Saran completed his studies at the two schools where his mother had taught.  She has an older brother named Abhiroop who lives in Mumbai.  Her family lived in the small town of Haridwar BHEL colony when she was little. She later studied at Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi  and graduated in literature.  Saran is an accomplished dancer. She was trained first as a child by his mother in Kathak and Rajasthan folk dance, and later trained in Kathak style Shovana Narayan. She has participated in numerous dance teams at the university and with their teacher. They include social issues in their dance routines.
Saran is very reluctant to talk about his private life, and usually denies reported linkups are romantic in nature.  She is Hindu, but has been known to celebrate Muslim holidays too.

Saran is well known for her charity work. She describes herself as someone used to "time and resources to share with the poor since childhood." She says "celebrities can lead the way in raising awareness of the social, campaigning for causes or be part of the fundraiser." Her family always encouraged to think of the needy.

Saran is a brand ambassador for the Naandi Foundation,  and for the Heart Foundation save a child (SACH), which works for the benefit of poor children and those affected by natural disasters. It helps fund a prevention of Aids Foundation program. In 2009, Saran has joined other prominent personalities to promote "The Joy of Giving Week" to encourage people from all walks of life to participate in acts of giving. [93] She regularly participates in carnivals and campaigns associated with children the benefits. It is associated with the protection of animals and the Blue Cross of India.  is also associated with an NGO called World Vision find parents for disadvantaged children, and works RDF Apollo to raise money for disadvantaged children.

Saran is a long-term trend for the blind. In 2011, he opened a spa that uses only visual impairment. Called Shree Spa, and is located in Mumbai.  Saran said: "When I studied in DPS Mathura Road in Delhi, there was a school for the exact opposite of our blind school. I used to go every week and spend time to see how these students played cricket and did other things normally. This is what prompted me to do something for these people. "

In January 2008, Saran was the subject of controversy when a Hindu organization in Chennai lodged a complaint with the police against Saran, oppose the costume worn by her during the celebration of 175 days of his film , Sivaji :.
