Samantha Ruth Prabhu (born April 28, 1987) is an Indian actress and model, who works primarily in the industries of Telugu and Tamil movie. Samantha was brought up in Chennai and pursued a modeling career as a teenager. Despite the signing of Ravi Varman Moscowin Kavery in 2007, her first release was the critically acclaimed 2010 Telugu romantic film, Ye Maaya Chesave Gautham Menon led, which brought her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - South. She continued to appear in several Telugu film commercial success. In mid-2012, Samantha started a charity called Pratyusha underprevileged support womenandchildren.
In 2013, Samantha became the second actress to win Revathi after both the Filmfare Award for Best Actress and Tamil Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress in the same year for movies Neethaane In Ponvasantham and Eega respectively. She received the award for best actress Siima - Telugu for Attarintiki Daredi in 2014.
