Sania Mirza (born 15 November
1986 in Mumbai) is an Indian professional tennis player. From 2003 until his
retirement from singles in 2013, has been classified by the Women's Tennis
Association as the No. 1 player in India, both in singles and doubles.
Throughout his career, he has established himself as one of the highest paid
athletes and high profile in India.

In his career, Mirza has notable
wins over Svetlana Kuznetsova, Vera Zvonareva and Marion Bartoli; and former
world number one Martina Hingis 1s, Dinara Safina and Victoria Azarenka. It is
the best player in history ranked India, with a career high ranking of 27 in
singles and five doubles. She made a
number of innovations in his native country, including the United States of
more than 1 million in career earnings, earning a Bachelor Pro level, and won
three titles in mixed doubles for the 2009 Australian Open, French Open and the
2012 US Open, 2014; and classification (and possibly win) the final of the WTA
in 2014. Mirza is also the third Indian
woman in the Open Era to present and win a round in a Grand Slam tournament. In
addition, he won a total of 14 medals (six of them gold) into three major
multi-sport events, namely the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and Asian Games
in Africa.
Mirza has been named one of the
Asian Heroes' '50 time in October 2005. In March 2010, The Economic Times named Mirza
in the list of "33 women who made India proud." Sania Mirza was
appointed goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations woman for South Asia
during the ceremony to mark the International Day to End violence against
Women, 25 November 2014.
Early life
Sania was born in Mumbai (Bombay
then) to Imran Mirza and his wife Naseema manufacturer, who worked in a
printing company on November 15, 1986. Shortly after his birth, his family
moved to where it and sister Anam Hyderabad bottom up in a Shiite Muslim
family. She took the tennis at the age of six. She was trained by his father
and Roger Anderson.

Junior Year
Mirza began playing tennis at
six, turned professional in 2003. He was trained by his father. Mirza won 10
singles and 13 doubles titles as a junior. She won the doubles title Alisa
Kleybanova of the association Wimbledon 2003 Championships girls. She also
reached the semi-finals of the French Open 2003 Girls Doubles with Sanaa
Bhambri and the quarterfinals of the US Open 2002 Doubles girls.
2001-2003: Success on the ITF Circuit
Mirza began to show the first
successes debuted in April 2001, on the ITF circuit 15. His most notable
appearances include 2001 quarter-final showing in Pune and New Delhi semifinal
finish. When he started the 2002 season, a first loss of the season proved to
win three consecutive titles; the first in his hometown of Hyderabad and the
other two in Manila, Philippines.
In February 2003, Mirza received
a wildcard to play in her first WTA tournament in Hyderabad AP Tourism Open in
his hometown. She lost the first difficult encounter and Evie Dominikovic of
Australia 6-2, 1-6, 2-6. The following week, Qatar Ladies Open, fell to Czech
Olga Blahotová in the first qualifying round. We had a good result representing
India in the Fed Cup, winning three consecutive games. She helped India to win
a bronze medal in the men's 2002 Asian Games in Busan mixed doubles, Leander
Paes the association. Moreover, Mirza collected four gold medals at the
Afro-Asian Games 2003 in Hyderabad.
