Priyanka Chopra (pronounced [prɪjaːŋkaː tʃoːpɽaː] ; born 18 July 1982) is an Indian film actress and singer and the winner of Miss World 2000. Throughout his successful film career, Chopra became one of the highest paid actresses in Bollywood and one of the most popular celebrities in India. He has received numerous awards and nominations, including the National Film Award for Best Actress and Filmfare Awards in four categories.

Early life and background:

Priyanka Chopra was born July 18, 1982 in Jamshedpur, Bihar (now Jharkhand), Ashok Chopra and Madhu, the two doctors of the Indian Army.  His father was Punjabi, while his mother is from Jharkhand.  She has a brother, Siddharth, who is seven years younger than her. Actress Meera Chopra Parineeti Chopra and Barbie Handa are his cousins. As a result of the occupation of their parents, the family moved to several cities in India including Delhi, Pune, Lucknow, Bareilly, Ladakh, Chandigarh and Ambala.
